With over 30 years to his career, Andy began as A Young Playwrights winner in 1994, earning production of his play "The Cultural Hyphen", at the Old Globe at age 18. Shortly after he founded San Diego’s Asian American Repertory Theater; Directing & Producing through ten seasons and forty productions as Artistic Director till 2005. Founding Coordinator of the “Theatre-In-Residence Program” at the La Jolla Playhouse 2007-2012. Mentor for the UCSD Asian American Theatre Festival 2007-09.

As Director of Casting & Production for East West Players for the past 12 years, he has cast and overseen over 40 productions at EWP including the first post Broadway production of Allegiance starring George Takei, and guided internal new works workshops for many new works, original plays and commissions.
He continues to story consult & direct workshops of new works and full productions for plays, musicals & immersive entertainment, most notably a 2007 adaptation of the life of Japanese American Sympathizer Clara Breed, a 2011 stage-adaptation of Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible Sing-Along Blog, and freelance R&D projects for Walt Disney Imagineering. He also serves as a Judge and Dramaturg for the Playwrights Project. Having trained in various Martial arts Andy’s Fight Choreography credits include 10 years of performance & choreography with Asian Story Theatre, various film and television credits, Kim's Convenience at Laguna Playhouse, Vietgone at UC Riverside, and East West Player’s production of ”Man of God” earning him an Ovation Nomination for Fight Direction.
Andy is currently an active company member for the new works incubator Playgrounds LA, as well as ensemble Member for Rogue Artists Ensemble, and as a puppeteer, has been a lead performer for the Childeren's television program "Kapwa Jam".
